Nearly 50 people came to the Min Zidell Healing Garden on Friday, June 28 to meet and celebrate “Herbal Ed” Smith, founder of Herb Pharm and a pioneer of the herbal renaissance.
Smith told the celebrants that NCNM has a special place in his heart because his company and the college grew together.
Participants beat the heat in the garden’s gazebo, sipping champagne and sparkling cider and enjoying light refreshments and Missionary Chocolates. The event was hosted by NCNM President David Schleich and the NCNM board of directors, and put on by the Traditional Roots Institute.
Smith joined the NCNM class of 2013 the next day as commencement speaker and fellow graduate. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa (LLD).
